Stock market trading with chart indicators

Experienced traders know there are several ways to best use any technical indicators on a chart. The first is to look for a divergence from price at a support or resistance level.

A positive divergence is when price is making lower lows while the indicator does not.

The indicator will make higher lows or the same lows. This shows a lack of selling pressure momentum. The best signal comes at an area or support. This area is where traders can decide to make a stock trade.

When price is reaching to new highs, but the indicator is making lower highs, or keeping the same high, you are seeing negative divergence. Combine that with price reaching a resistance level and you have an excellent signal for a reversal in trend. This is the best way to use the indicators when trading. This could be a good sign to place a short trade.

Should the stock market continue to rise only on defensive sectors, you should be in for a bearish turn within weeks and a return of the bear for the late summer and fall. Price proceeded to rally strong from that demand level and through that profit margin, and beyond. Stock trading and investing can be the most complicated task many traders will ever face.

Between all the schools of thought when it comes to conventional technical analysis and reading stock charts and all the news and fundamental analysis to be done, this can be more than a full time job. Traders need to focus on how they make money buying and selling stocks and apply those principles which they already do well to the trading and investing markets.

This is where a trader makes his or her money. There is nothing inherently wrong with understanding macroeconomics, government policies, and reading charts, and how they may be hurting or helping the value of an individual stock. Most traders should spend a lot more time understanding these concepts. The important distinction is that you must separate these two concepts fundamental value and technical value  to be a consistently profitable trader.

It may not be easy to separate these two concepts in your head at first, but I guarantee if you can do it you will trade better and make more money. In order to be consistently profitable one has to do many things that do not come naturally to us as human beings. You have to stretch your boundaries, work on your fears and learn the proper way to speculate. Because at the end of day, anything in life that is meaningful is always challenging.

The stock market is a mixed bag with many sectors attempting to go higher, some are stuck in a range and some are pointing lower. So be cautious when trading because as of now, the market is not sure which way it wants to go. It is so essential to have a bigger picture outlook before attempting to make a trade. Make sure to place your stop losses and take profits accordingly.
